The Food Bank is open once a week, offering fresh, frozen, and canned food for those who need extra support to feed their families, and many consider it a crucial lifeline. The Food Bank is open every Tuesday from 5:30 to 7pm, and volunteers assist with the distribution of food.
The Nome Food Bank is supported through the Food Bank of Alaska with USDA commodities and with the support of our donors. Suggested food items to be donated include: bread, canned goods, hard cheeses, frozen or refrigerated meats/poultry/fish, fruits and vegetables, refrigerated milk, pasta, sugar, flour, coffee, cereal and boxed foods, peanut butter, and rice. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
If you are interested in making a donation, please contact the Community Center at the phone number or email address listed below.
Volunteers are always needed to help keep our Food Bank open. Working just on shift each month, you can support our program. To join our team of volunteers, call or email using the contact information below.
